Are you looking for a recreational badminton racket? KW FLEX is there for everyone who practices badminton. It is not always necessary to play very competitive badminton and play matches. For all recreational players who do not play competition or who are at a lower level, we have a selection of rackets that perfectly suit your needs.

Recreational badminton racquet

To make it as easy as possible for you, we have divided the suitable rackets for beginners and/or recreational players into two groups. The first group are the starting players and the second group are the advanced recreational players. For both target groups, our badminton expert has chosen several suitable badminton rackets which meet the minimum requirements of the playing level. Which badminton players fall within these groups is described below.

Not every recreational player is a recreational player.

Many badminton players only look at the current level at which they play, but this is not always fair. In fact, it is important to know that an advanced recreational player is NOT a badminton player who used to play at a higher competition level. Once you have played matches at a high level, you will not lose that technique (just like with cycling). These players have to make their choice at the advanced rackets, to be able to pick a suitable badminton racket. So pay attention to the level of your technique when you are choosing a racket.

Badminton racquets for beginning players

We recommend a carbon badminton racket to a beginning badminton player who intends to play badminton at least once a week. But if you are a starting adult badminton player, you can also choose the carbon racket with the aluminum blade. The disadvantage of these rackets is the limited learning curve you can go through. You will quickly reach the maximum possibilities of the racket, which makes it more difficult for you to develop yourself. If you still want to select such a racket, look in the category: Starting youth players. Do you have enough confidence in your own abilities, and can you free up a little more budget? Read on below.

Get a good start!

Are you ready to get serious and start playing badminton at least once a week for at least one year? Then we strongly advise you to buy a full carbon badminton racket. You can find these rackets in the category starting recreational players. In general, adults are more economical with their rackets, are more controlled and can determine their own budget. The rackets that our specialist has selected are not extremely expensive and fall in the price range between 30 and 50 Euros. The advantages of a full carbon fiber racquets are more flexibility, more power, lighter, absorbs more shocks and is therefore less prone to injuries.

Badminton rackets for advanced recreational players

After a while, you will be ready for the next step as a beginner or recreational badminton player. Do you have the right technique and are you careful with your racket? Then choose a badminton racket for advanced recreational players.

These rackets are always made of carbon and give you only advantages such as more power, flexibility, lighter weight and further development of your technique. The advantage of a more flexible and lighter racket is the lower chance of injuries and increase in handling speed and power. There is less chance of injuries because the vibrations during the hitting of the shuttle are absorbed by the badminton racket instead of your arm/shoulder.

The price of the rackets which our badminton expert has selected falls between 50 and 90 Euros.

Which features should I select?

The badminton racquets selected by our expert in both categories were chosen based on various characteristics. There are several variables that make it important to choose a particular racket. The most important characteristics our badminton expert selects on are: quality, materials used, flexibility, balance, weight and price. Don't know yourself, which racket characteristics suit you? Ask our badminton expert for personal advice!

Flexibility badminton rackets

The flexibility is divided between stiff, medium flex and flexible. If you do not have that much strength, it is best to look for a more flexible badminton racket. It will help you develop speed in your strokes. In addition, a flexible racket also absorbs more vibrations, so that they penetrate less into your arm and shoulder. This results in a lower chance of injuries if you are not a top badminton player.

Do you already have enough power and do you want more control? Then you should select a medium flexible badminton racquet. (The stiffer the racket, the more control and accuracy you will have. However, this also means that mistakes are punished more quickly.)

Balance of a badminton rackets

The weight distribution is mainly determined by your style of play and is divided between head heavy, balanced and grip heavy. If you are a defensive badminton player, you will have to defend smashes more often and play short games at the net. Therefore, a head light badminton racket is an ideal addition to your playing style.

Are you an offensive player and do you prefer to constantly attack your opponent, and they can only defend? Then a head heavy racket is ideal to support your offensive game even more. Of course, you can also choose the middle ground and then a balanced racket is the perfect choice.

Badminton racket weight

The next important characteristic is the desired weight class. Depending on your playing style, you can make the right selection here. If you play a lot at the net, if you do a lot of doubles, if you are injury prone or if you just want to be very agile, then a lighter badminton racket is recommended. Less weight = more maneuverability.

If you are an offensive player, you play a lot in the backfield, and you are not injury-prone, it is better to choose a heavier racket. More weight = more power. Determine your style of play and what you need help with during the game. The racket is and remains an extension of you as a badminton player.

More expensive is not always better

The materials used determine the price for a big part, but the price should not always be leading. The beginners racquets (rackets for youth players) are not always made completely of carbon, because this makes the rackets more expensive and especially more vulnerable. The rackets for adults or older youth players are made completely out of carbon.

The more technologies and more expensive materials (carbon) are used in a racket, the bigger the chance that it will punish your play if you don't know how to handle it. There is no guarantee that an expensive recreational badminton racket will improve your game. Be realistic about your own level of play and find the right badminton racket for you.
